White/Gray Smoke: White exhaust smoke is an indication that coolant is burning in the combustion chamber. These are possible causes:

If its coolant what is burning, it usually smells sweet as the coolant does.
I have noticed that if i am driving short trips there is some moisture coming out from the exhaust tips, specially now when its winter.

White smoke means there's a new Pope elected so maybe there was some channeling happening with your car. The date of your posting and voting for the new head of the Catholic church- coincidental, I think not. :-)
