I have an 06 with 6,000 miles and have noticed a whirring or buzzing noise tied to the engine for about the first mile after the car has sat overnight or all day at work. After a short period the "noise" is gone.

At first I thought it was a transmission noise but I tried slipping the car into neutral and the noise continued. Then I tried turning off the A/C and that did it.

It isn't really alarming, nor do I think it is getting worse. Just noticable. I probably wouldn't hear it if I had the radio on.

Anyone else hear this noise or have an idea what part of the A/C could be causing it?
