where to buy stock bulbs?
where to buy stock bulbs?
Where can I buy the stock halogen fog light bulbs and the amber rear turn signal bulbs? Can't find them online anywhere. Are they the same ones you can find at Kragen? Thanks.
oemacuraparts.com should have them. Are factory bulbs a must? You can go much cheaper other routes and change the look as well.
Fogs are H-11 and Rear Turn Signal Light Bulb Size: 992 (7440A)

Thanks. I checked that site before but couldn't find them. Found them the second time around. I currently have 6000K HID's in my fogs to match the 6000K low beams. However it isn't a perfect match so I was planning on getting 3000K. But I noticed that some 3000K fog lights only look yellow when shined on the ground. I'm planning on taking out the HID's and just putting in the stock halogens. For the rear turn signals, I currently have a white bulb. It's hard to see during the day so I'm just going to go with either amber or red.
Yeah, I went with 6000k LED fogs and they are whiter than the lows. I think I read the lows are 5400k or something. 3000k is definitely yellow. You should be able to find many other temps. Or you could change the lows to 6000k.
If you take out the HIDs, what will you do with them? I am interested if you want to sell.

I know that acurapartswarehouse.com sells OEM fog light bulbs for $16 each. I picked up two of them the other week, actually. They should carry the amber rear turn signal bulbs as well
Here's what I decided on... I'm replacing my low beam 6000Ks with 5000Ks, baking my headlights to remove the amber reflector, and removing the HIDs from fogs and putting Nokya Hyper Yellow bulbs. DRLs are getting replaced with 5000K LEDs. I'd be happy to sell you my HIDs once I install everything. Should be done by next Wednesday. I'll post pics when I'm done.

3000 or 2500 yellow fogs actually work better in fog, although most people do not use fogs for fog. 6000K fogs make the fog worse with increased glare and reflectance.

eyi, are you switching the stock DRLs with LEDs or are you adding LEDs and connecting the DRL power to them? The stock DRLs run off the high beams with a lower voltage. If you are only switching the high beam bulbs, I'm not sure the DRL voltage applied would be enough to forward bias the LEDs (turn them on). Also, you would lose high beam effectiveness. Just my word of caution.
Chas, thanks for the stock color temp. If you read my "Cheap Fog Light Look" thread, I explain that my fog bulbs are definitely not intended for seeing in fog. Not only is the color wrong, but I also lost 80% of my lumens from the stock bulbs. They are solely for a color as I rarely drive in fog.

Yeah I'm aware that I would be losing high beam effectiveness. Tradeoff is worth it IMO.
