When to replace spark plugs

What price for spark plug replacement and what else if anything is necessary during replacement?

$60 for six NGK IX laser Iridium from Rockauto, plugs recommended replace every 105k miles along with TB/WP and valve adjustment (if you really want the extra mile).

I'd recommend using a tiny bit of dielectric grease in the coil plug boot.

I think most of the time there is for the valve adjustment. Either way the spark plugs and valve covers come off, so you're essentially getting new spark plugs and valve cover gaskets at the cost of parts. Definitely expensive!!

Valve adjustment is not needed necessarily. If you hear them ticking, they need adjustment, otherwise you are good. It’s very time consuming.

I know. Just about every shop quotes anywhere from $60-$120 around here PER NGK Iridium spark plug. I understand that shops have to pad their parts and labor to make a profit, and account for problems along the way. But a 1000%-2000% markup? Damn.

I replaced the plugs in my car in less than an hour, any shop charging more than an hour of work is a rip off. Figure plugs are $100, an hour of labor $120 for a total of about $220. That’s fair. Why not do it yourself, it’s very easy to do, even the back ones. Plenty of help on this

This looks a lot more like combustion gas getting in to the plug wells. I've seen this before. Make sure the plugs are properly torqued.

Pretty good bet. I think Infinite Scroll is literally the worst vBulletin feature ever.

I think it was a great idea in theory. The problem is you’re seeing two features clash: infinite scroll and thread suggestions.

I was responding to gen erik, "nasty spark plug wells and coils". I have no idea how my post ended up where it did. It's been a few years since I've active on the forum. I hope this response ends up where it should.
