Whats the BEST alternator for 2G RL
Is the OEM one rebuilt or brand new? I know sometimes even OEM tends to be rebuilt as cars get older... That's the way it is for my Camry (granted that's 10 years older), alternators and axles are all rebuilt, even from Toyota.
Had the same situation a few weeks ago.
After doing several hours of research I ended up having the Acura dealer replacing my alternator.
Checked with a few suppliers and nothing in stock to fit my 2011 RL and they weren't sure if the after market part will work because RLs are not in large numbers as TL.

I can confirm that the alternators from Acura itself now are rebuilt units, not new. I got one last December and they admitted they can no longer obtain a new one. They said the post above about the car's low sales is probably dead on as the reason why.
Now, that doesn't mean they're worse than competing units. I do suspect it means they're less durable than OEM was.
