I just noticed that I no longer get the mail icon on the Nav display when I leave the car with the key fob and the engine running. Was I just asleep at the wheel?

 

Did you close the door when you took the key fob out of the car?

 

Yes, door was closed and heard the beep as I walked away. Back in car, no icon. I have done this many times since I had TSBs applied but just noticed this new behavior.

 

Well, maybe they took that particular one out of the system because it annoyed people?

 

I don't believe I get that message anymore either.

I'm wondering whether it was designed to stop automatically after awhile, or stopped when my daily messages prematurely stopped. I don't know that these messages would be related, but have had an uneasy relationship with this car's messaging capabilities when my allotment of messages stopped unexpectedly half way through the program

The reason I don't know whether all of this would be related is because the keyless access message was so annoying that it trained me to never leave the car before turning it off...I carry the remote on me.

 

I still get it on occasion, but I have had no updates or taken the time to erase the message using the secret menu.

 

I got it last week

 

This annoying message was eliminated as part of TSB 05-022 (XM update delay).

 

Thank god.

 

That must be why I've never gotten it since I just got the car 2 weeks ago. Thanks, I was starting to think something was wrong. Sounds useless though and I'm glad they got rid of it.

 

After the TSB's I do not get the warning anymore.

 

That's reason enough to get the update, IMHO.

 

I am already scheduled to get the update this friday.

 

Yeah, I need to get off my butt and schedule my appointment also. It's just that I am not having any specific problems related to the TSBs (except for this one), so I have been reluctant to subject my RL to an "upgrade" which may create more problems than it solves. For example, I spent a lot of quality time getting my XM radio service squared away-with the XM fix TSB, I will have to go through all of that again (yuk!).

 

Sure, one thing to say before you leave the dealer after TSB's make sure you call XM and ask them is NavTrafic is activated. My dealer: "sure it on, it has been activated". Driving back I see no NavTafic. I call XM, and they say, the dealer needs to activate the NavTrafic, sorry. I call the dealer and again they tell me, that they have activated the NavTrafic, but according to XM the NavTrafic is not on. Finally I drive to the dealer and ask again. He tells me it is on! I call XM on my cell and hand the cell phone to the service guy; XM rep. says NO NavTrafic on this account! I made the service guy feel like shit! He finally activated the NavTrafic. I told him off and walked out! This was my experience with this. Good Luck! Again make sure you call XM to verify that Navtrafic is on.

 

I wanted to double confirm that the obnoxious "keyless access remote message" is gone after my last dealer update. I am so happy. I still get the beeping notification if my leave my car running with my keyfob with me, but no longer a message that I must delete.

 

Have any of you fine people noticed any changes in your navigation and climate control display screens ? I have and I think it is a vast improvemnt. The climate control screen now shows a split screen for pass and driver fan speed. The nav screen for find a state has a state outline instaed of just names. CHeck it out after you have your tsb upgrades. Yes, since my update, my remote key notification is gone too.

 

Hmm, my car is 3 weeks old and doesn't have this. I asked the dealer and he said that all updates had been performed. I'm going to have to check this out.

 

I see the change for showing the state outline, however I don't see a change for the split screen fan speed change.

 

I just had three updates applied last week (022, 027, and 028) and noticed I no longer received that message as well. I didn't think my VIN fell in the range for the XM refresh update but they applied it anyway. HUGE difference! Mine always updated the song/artist a few seconds after it started but I didn't think that was all that bad and didn't realize it was what everyone was talking about. Now it updates before the song even starts...All updates went smooth and I have not noticed any negative side effects!!

 

I stand corrected. I have these features but just never saw them before. I tested them both today so maybe my salesman was right and the car does already have all of the updates. I have a friend with an RL and her car has the refresh issues with the XM channel/song/title and it sucks. Thankfully I haven't had any of the issues that some of you earlier owners have.

I was wrong about that observation. With the car running, getting out and *shutting the door* brings up the message...just as 911 suggested.

Anyway, I had the 3 TSB's done yesterday. Now, getting out and closing the door causes a warning beeping, but no message.

 

I always hear the beep, but never get the messages anymore
