Canadian RLs have cooled seats and USDM don't. Canadians also have a wiper fluid warning, which would be really useful here in snow country, USA, but USDM also don't. That's pretty much it IIRC.

The 2009 USDM RL will have cooled seats (finally).

We have a few Canadian members who will hopefully chime in to add to the list.

We do not have acuralink and traffic updates on the nav system.

One nice plus though, we do not have that silly shark fin tale on the roof as all the antennas are etched in to the rear window glass.

Thanks guys!

I forgot about the price premium. Canadians really get it in the azz pricewise.

The shark fin was for Onstar. The radio antennas are etched into the rear window glass on the USDM RL as well. The GPS antenna is located under the rear parcel shelf.

I like the shark fin. I think it gives the car a cool look.

i think the reason for the wiper fluid warning is because the cdm version has a way larger wiper fluid reservoir

I didn't see anything in the owner's manual about the USDM RL not having a washer fluid warning. I know the TL said 'Canadian Model Only' but I haven't been able to find anything of the sort in our manual.

Headlamp Washers

Don't forget the headlamp washers! This is something I wish US models had...

Acually the shark's fin was for both Onstar and XM. It was kept for XM for the base '07 RL, whereas the combo XM antenna and terrestrial antenna for NAV traffic is behind the 3rd brakelight cover on the Tech and CMBS versions.

I looked in the manual and also didn't see "Canadian only" but I've never, ever, gotten a message when my wiper fluid level is low. This notice is required in Canadian models?

And because of this, CDM has a lot larger washer reservoir.

I get a message in the MID when the wiper fluid is low. It's annoying as hell, because it keeps popping up every few minutes with the little chime after I press the up arrow on the wheel to cycle past it.

Where exactly ARE the headlamp washers located? I've seen the button (on the dashboard next to the mirror adjustment), but where does Acura hide the actual washer thing?

My Audis had it as a little "lump" in front of the lamp cover.

Yeah, my '06 US RL does the same thing and it's seriously annoying. You get the same warning for low washer fluid that you do for low fuel... and it keeps cycling over and over and over again.

Wouldn't be so bad if the reservoir held more than half a freakin' gallon of washer fluid... but around here in bug, pollen, ice, and salt country, that's like a week of fluid.

US RL 2.6 qts (2.5l)
Can RL 6.9 qts (6.5l)

This for the 06 Model. You wonder how difficult it would be to replace the reservoir?

2.6 quarts? That's it? Our Santa Fe has a gallon tank! That goes at least 6 to 8 months.

It's probably due to the winter weather we get here...we abuse those things when the salt hits our windshields...

And the only problem with the windshield washer light is they break easy. And what i mean by that is that for some reason the light never shuts off. Really annoying...it's happened on the Civic and the TL....hopefully it won't happen on the others...it's so annoying sitting in the car and buying some fluid, then realizing you don't need it. And then, putting it in the trunk and laughing because the other people who drive the car made the same mistake and now there's three full containers in the trunk full of windshield washer fluid.
