Unusual Remote ?

I realize this is a bizarre question but, bare with me?
I'm strongly considering buying another RL, an '11 or '12 BUT, I'm wondering if the two remotes will interfere with each other or make things wonky?
When I purchased my '05 V70 we also bought an '05 S80. Due to interference, I couldn't carry both keys, as was my habit, without the two computers going bonkers!
Volvo USA suggested I shouldn't have purchased two cars! With that kind of reply, it's no wonder why Volvo has been on the "skids".
And no, I simply can't afford a RLXh...legally

Volvo

The Japanese are better with electronics than the Swedes. You will have no issue.

You will have no issues. They are the exact same remotes from 2005-2012 but each car is only going to respond to the remotes programmed in its computer, so you won't have any problems.

As a matter of fact... a benefit of the remotes being the same is that the dealer can actually program a remote to two different cars so that instead of having to carry two fobs, you can just carry one that both cars will respond to. Of course, this has to be specifically programmed to the cars, so it won't happen by accident.

Either remote would work on either car? Now, that would be a BIG advantage!

Be sure to negotiate that into the sale. Otherwise you will drop an extra bill.

Yes, so in other words... you have two RLs each with their own 2 fobs. Say you and your wife are drivers to both cars. Instead of each of you having to carry two fobs or switching fobs and keeping straight which is which, you can have all your fobs programmed to both cars. Then you and your wife can each just carry one fob that works with both cars. Then keep the other two as spares.

It works nicely that way (assuming you share each other's cars like that).
