Under 25 RL owners
Under 25 RL owners
I am looking to buy an used RL in the next 2 months. I am curious to know if there are any under 25 year old RL drivers in here. Everyone keeps telling me to get a TL but the RL is too great of a deal to pass up. Others in the TL forum believe that the RL is for the older generation. After driving it though it just feels solid and the SH-awd is great. Plus having awd for the north eastern winter seems like the best thing to do.
cough*old fart*cough...
My first car was a Fiat X1/9! Does anyone remember those? Engine, tranny and car in general were top notch; body? A completely different (rust bucket) thing...
Ahhh, the good old days.

This car appeals to all ages. It's quiet and comfortable for the older generation and performs very will for the younger generation.
The interior appeals to both as well. The stereo kicks and the technology are there as well.
I can't think of a "young guy" car that is as impressive as the RL so your buddies will all be in awe over this car.

Indeed. While most consider the luxury & comfort aspects will appeal more to a mature crowd, you cannot deny the RL's younger appeal. This car has the engineering and peformance capabilities and who will deny that the tech toys' appeal to younger drivers?
It may be more car than you need, and set a high benchmark for your future rides, but if you can afford it, you like it and it gives the appeal you seek, then buy it.
I can say the majority of lookers I have had are typically younger drivers. Just today I was setting my Navi destination at a stop sign and when I looked over to see two younger guys were watching me from the Altima next to me. Both had big grins and gave me 2
nore03, I had the same thoughts when buying the RL. Alot of my friends called it a grandpa's car LOL. Going from a WRX to a RL was a big change, but one for the better. The technology, performance and build quality (RL made in Japan, TL is not) are all top notch for the price point. If your like me who wants to make there RL more sporty and performance oriented, it's fairly easy to do

this thread (but I will), yesterday I had a call from Acura CS to follow up on an inquiry I had as to where to get an RL poster (for my office). They were clueless. I guess they have some gremlins that produce them and distribute them to dealerships.Seeing Touge's RL pics (which are amazing!). I think Touge should just print up some poster sized prints and offer them to members!
Touge, great shot of the RL and of Flushing Meadow Park, which looked eerily deserted. Did you have a special pass to get in, as there appeared to be police barricades around?
For those who can afford to buy a new RL at the tender age of 25ish, I am somehow jealous. Around that age, I was only able to afford a Cutlass Supreme, and that was after working two years at a pretty good job subsequent to graduating college. The 1st gen RL was a fairly stylish grandpa's car, which had shapes and lines borrowed from MB and Lexus. The current RL is much more youthful and aggressive looking, especially if you mod it the way Touge did.

I'm 23 and in the process of buying a 05 RL right now, I do think the RL is for an older person, but it depends on your needs. If I were single I would be buying a BMW 328i , but I have a family and that car isn't safe or large enough for me. So Acura RL it is!
