Translation Request - Acura RL Coupe?
I was doing some surfing and came across this interesting link with info & images regarding a possible Acura RL (Legend) Coupe. CLICK HERE
The translation isn't the best, but somewhat understandable.
Can anyone attempt to translate this better? ORIGINAL WEBSITE

V8 engine loading? (2005/06/26)
Legend coupe (expectation illustration)
As for development of coupe version of legend being advanced securely has been ascertained.
Whether at the beginning, simply to 2 door coupe bodies the sufficient car which is converted, it was thought, it was ascertained, but that after that in investigation, the possibility of loading the V8 engine of the new design is high.
In reality, the travelling test is done V8 loading in prerequisite.

Thanx ... But I think the text above lookz like the translation link I posted. I was hoping somebody might have a better interpretation of the original text. The posted translation, at times, doesn't make sense and is somewhat wordy.

It has definitly been confirmed that Acura is developing & testing a 2 door coupe version of the legend.
Initially, development was done using a V-6, without thought of another engine. The conversion to a coupe was very straightforward (took to the conversion readily without major mods).
They have now decided during the development of the coupe to install it with a V8 engine. Developing & testing the 2dr. coupe with a V8 is a high priority.

Any new coupe better come with a manual! Acura has been very stingy with 6 cylinder/MT Coupes, with a gap of 8 years between the 95 Legend manual coupes to the 2003 CLS 6MT, (besides the NSX which is also in limbo).
Wish I liked sedans, there would be more to choose from Acura. Not a big fan of the RL look, was hoping a coupe would be built off the TL styling, but any manual coupe would be great. I drove 2 Legend Coupes before I got my 03 6MT CLS.

I agree about the power. As much as I like the car, the power just leaves me cold. For having 300 hp, it sure doesn't feel like it. My only complaint about the RL is the lack of torque. I know I mentioned it before, but the v-8 that was in my MBZ e500 stil produced the same amount of horsepower. The torque was awesome. Unless somebody came up in a Vette or something even more powerful nobody could touch you. It was like walking around with a chip on your shoulder daring somebody to knock it off, you knew the odds were greatly in your favor until somebody better (more expensive $$$) came along. With the RL, I've learned to be a lover, not a fighter. Best not to pick fights in the RL because at the stoplight it's anybody's race and half the time, the RL will end up losing. Maybe I'm just spoiled, and I really do enjoy my Acura (even more than my Benz) but I feel like I'm in a coma. The RL simply does not excite me. Please somebody tell Acura to drop a V-8 in the RL, I need to live again!

I have to say that people such as yourself are definitely entitled to your opinion, especially when you move from another car which is supposed to have tremendous torque. Nonetheless, I am entitled to my opinion, and it's that the RL has more than ample power. I would never need more than the current powerplant provides. The acceleration is tremendously powerful to me. I don't need to get 0-60 in less than 6.5 seconds. Ever. (And I too come from a Mercedes, though it was a mediocre E class).
