Missing my
I have an '05 and love it but many of the bugs got worked out in '06+. If you're looking for any specific features, you will have to ask. The backup camera got added in '06 as an option, added to all for '07 (I believe). Someone will correct me if I got it wrong. Aside from normal things to check on a car make sure to look at a few extra things. Check the door handle sensors prior to purchasing. Make sure both sides lock and unlock appropriately. Drive the car on the freeway and listen for a whine or whistle at around 70mph. If you get an '05, ask about the AC and see if it has been repaired/replaced yet. The biggest thing on an '06 is that it does not have PAX tires. You will end up eventually needing to de-PAX or spend time and money trying to find replacements.
All in all, this is a great car! I came form a 2G CL and although the power/speed is not as great in the RL, everything else is much better. Good luck and post pics when you get it!

Safety Car
That is all pretty correct.
Factory back up cameras:
05, no can do without custom work
06, optional on all trim levels
07-08, standard on tech and CMBS/PAX trims, optional on base
PAX Tires:
06-08, available with highest trim level only (ACC/CMBS/PAX). By the way, you do not have to De-PAX, they are just expensive to replace, so many choose to go to standard tire technology.
Available population dwindles with each year.
YEAR SALES CUM
2010 2,037 44,272
2009 2,043 42,235
2008 4,517 40,192
2007 6,602 35,675
2006 11,501 29,073
2005 17,572 this number probably has some 1G in it, but likely not many
2004 Cannot tell how many 2G sold between 10/14 to 12/31

2012 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe
In '06 the base model included Navigation and the "tech package" was PAX, CMBS and ACC. In later years ('08?) no NAV, no adaptive headlights on the base model and fake wood on the dash with the "TECH" model adding NAV, real wood and adaptive headlights.

TL=True Love
negative- there is an 2009+ RL which got a face lift, which is a love/hate kinda thing.
positive- its affordable now that the 2.5 generation RL's are out

I had your generation TL and loved it. Than I got a 2004 TL and thought that this was so much nicer than my 2002 TL. Then I got a 2007 RL and it is so much nicer than my 04 TL IMO. All have been great cars but you will love the RL.

I came from a 2006 TL and was dissappointed with RL braking feel as well as lack there of at high speeds, as well as the softness of the suspension.
Beyond that, wipers on both cars were trash as well as the MXM4 tires in terms of performance.

Cruising in ATL!!
Actually i believe 06 had base with no options... then tech package included navi/acc/cmbs/pax.

That was exactly my story too, except my RL was 2006.

I went from a 99TL to an 08 RL. Love the car, the gas milage isn't as good with the RL as TL, but I knew that before buying the car. Love the RL, drives great and is loaded with great tech. Have fun shopping.
