Trade Value, anyone?

Wondering if anyone has recently traded (or received an offer) for trading in their 2005 RL? Wondering what to expect since so many of the used value guides are so off these days.

2005 RL, 86k miles, I am 2nd owner with clean carfax. Car is in very nice shape inside and out.

I was expecting around $11,000.

Thanks

You should be able to get that easy. I would expect them to offer around $10k, but you should be able to come up $2-3k above their first offer. They will low ball you to see what they can get.

Blazing got rid of his '05 a year ago and try offered $11k IIRC. I think he walked with $16k.

I never created a "I got a Z" thread. I just appended to a thread I had where I asked for suggestions.

Couldn't come up with a clever way to package "My RL needed a new carbon fiber driveshaft so I got a 370Z"

I did pass on the Legend when the seller refused to go lower than 11k on it. I ended up getting a CL Type S 6MT very recently.

I should expand on my answer.

The dealer that I traded in at originally offered me $7,000.

But I had already gone to Carmax, which offered $9,000, and then Texas Direct (a HUGE used car retailer here in town) offered $10k.

With the tax savings from having a trade-in, it is like selling the car elsewhere for $11k so that is what I did.

dealer retail on the car is about $17k and private party sale is $13-15. I would think you should get at least $13k on a clean car in trade with that mileage

Mine is 2006, with 89k miles and still under Acura warranty.
Two separate dealers offered me $14-14.5k for it. I said NO to them.

Selling it as a private party and i have a solid buyer giving me $17.5k at the moment.
