TPMS question

Hello everyone I noticed that my TPMS light came on awhile ago and not researching it I assumed it was due to the fact that I needed new tires. So I went and got the highly recommended P7s and noticed that the light had cut back on the next morning. I looked on my dash and I notice that I no longer have any of the tires pressurs visible and it reads system malfunction I think all 4 sensors need to be replaced. I made an appointment with a local tire shop.

TPMS errors have no bearing on whether the tires themselves need to be replaced.

Yup it was the passenger rear sensor...so they replaced it although I wonder if just the battery couldve been replaced instead of the whole sensor
