Top speed limiter

Top speed limiter
DOes anyone around here know how to nix the stupid nanny? European Legends do not a have a governor, giving the car a totally credible 155 mph top speed. I also suspect, that although governed at 134, the nanny blunts performance significantly below that limit speed, the RL would probably still be pulling strongly at that speed. Another bonus is that without it the RL could safely outperform the cop dodge charger chase vehicles (if so required ).

There have been tons of posts on the CL board about the same topic and nobody has ever had an answer so it's probably the same story here unless you can import all the parts from a non-N. America 'RL' but sounds too expensive for the value.

Eliminating the nanny should not cost anything at all. It is simply one of the engine management modifiable parameters. Thus any dealer should be able to do it (but won't due to legal issues). All JDM vehicles are limited to 119 by law, however, euro spec vehicles are not. Its all a matter of hooking up the car to a PC with the engine management software and using the correct code.

Have you seen any tests that show the RL at 155?

At present, Im Emailing JET industries which claim they have a reflash for the the RL. I don't want them to screw with all the parameters, just remove the top speed limiter. I'll let you know what they say. Judging from the TL's strong pull up to about 130 (the TL has no limiter) I bet you the RL will perform similarly.
Another good point to make about the RL's straight line performance. Slight torque braking will easily shave .5 seconds to 60 (6.5) and will drop the 1/4 mile to 14.9 and 94mph respectively. The RL's ECU is definitely calibrated more for fuel efficiency than performance. A complete reflash should easily unlock up to 25 additional ponies.

I Have An 02 Tl-p and i dont believe our cars have a top speed limiter i think just a rev limiter. I know this because I've taken my car to 144 mph and the only reason i stoped cause 1. I smoked the tiburon i was racing and 2 i didnt want my tires to blow. but ya thats my experience.

One point of caution the standard turanzas on the RL have to be pumped up to the high speed pressure indicated in the manual, driving them at normal pressure at that speed is extremely dangerous.

I was on the way home and my buddy followed me with his 07 350Z, then I pushed my RL all the way and it just top to 115 mph he followed and of course he passed me easily. I was surprised because my car only can go 115 and wont go any faster. I know this car is not for race but my previous TL can go up to 150 mph easy. I missed my TL so BAD! So any mod that I can do to make this RL more aggresive?
