Tint Scratching question
When installing tint on the RL, is felt required to avoid scratching like it was on the TL. I know the TL had a major problem with scratching the tint if moleskin wasn't installed.

I use Johnson Greystone (link provided), a dyed tint with a lifetime warranty. No navi problems. I chose not to use a metallic tint to avoid potential GPS antenna issues.

Anybody tried Johnson InsulatIR in a lighter shade (like 60 or 70%)?? The company website says it's a sputtered ceramic that rejects infrared (= heat) while allowing satellite and cell signals through. Neutral gray, 10-15% reflectivity to visible light. Lifetime guarantee. Looks pretty good to me...but it always helps to have advice.

I would be curious if anyone tried tinting the RL at 70% myself, because that is as far as the Commonwealth of Pennisylvania will legally let me tint my car windows, and I don't know if it would be worth the cost or not.
What a stupid law. You can ride a motorcycle without a helmet so you and your favorite football team's star quaterback can splatter yourselves all over the road, but you can't tint your car windows to save your eyeballs.

50% is the most I was willing to put on because I didn't want to be pulled over for tint. In Ohio, the front two windows can be 50% total. RLs have 70% from the factory and when my 50% is added, I'm at around 35%. This is probably less noticeable than if I had installed 35% film--total is 24.5%.

Or does the law describe the amount of tint you are allowed to add to the already existing tint?
Does the fact that the RL's factory tint is 70% mean that I am already at the maximum amount of tint that the state of PA will allow me to have?
