Eliminate Parchment Interior Color and Replace it with Saddle
Eliminate Parchment Interior Color and Replace it with Saddle
Hey everyone! Loving my new ride; away with the RL on business and have driven almost 800 miles in the last week.
I love a tan interior for a car or SUV. I think it's an awesome contrast with the dark color exteriors and compliments the lighter ones. Our 2005 MDX has a "Saddle" interior and it's more of a darker tan with some browns in it, as opposed to my recently turned in TL which had a "parchment" interior which is a light tan- which I consider an off white. My TL's interior was a nightmare to keep clean. The saddle's interior is easy to keep clean and looks like a true tan color anyway.
I see that the saddle color has been elimintated from the new model MDX- I feel that's a huge mistake, especially since SUV's are usually "kid movers".
I was so tired of dealing with keeping my TL's interior clean I bought an RL with an ebony interior.
I say bring back the Saddle interior for all the Acura models and eliminate the Parchment interior!
How do you parchment owners keep your interior clean?

I would agree that the saddle not only looks better, but wears better as well. My TL had parchment interior and I found it too yellow, and every scuff shows. Exactly why I chose the taupe in my RL, it has the grey and tan tones and really is much easier to keep looking clean over the parchment. They had camel offered in the TL also, and I found that too orange.
I would have chosen saddle or more tan look, but I love the taupe and it does compromise both grey and tan hues.

Yes, I remember the camel color- very orangy IMO also. It was one of those hate it or love it colors. Saddle goes well with almost any exterior color.
The M35 has an orangy color also. I test drove a silver exterior M35 and it may have been the most hideous combination I'd ever seen. There was orange combined with black, tan, dark gray and light gray.
We have an '06 MDX, black w/saddle interior - the saddle just looks awesome. We looked at a few different color combos and as soon as my wife saw the black w/saddle she loved it. It's a cool contrast - the top part of the dash is black and the lower part the saddle color. I agree it would be a great interior color for a black RL.
dwboston: my favorite color combo for a car is black exterior with a saddle-like interior. I'm just not willing to spend the time maintaining a black exterior car.
I agree the M's terrible interior colors were what turned me off against it & I ended up with the taupe RL which is a great choice. Black is just not pracical in the heat of south Ga.
