Tint options

I'm looking at tinting the windows on my RL but I'm running into a few issues that I'm hoping to get some feedback on. First, I live in CA so we have rules about not having tinted front windows... I have done it in every of my previous vehicles, but apparently the budget issues in our state have cops on a rampage to generate revenue in any way that they can. I wouldn't care too much because I have a relatively easy way around that, but I'm meeting resistance from reputable window companies. Many of them will not tint the fronts at all now. I found one but he said he would only put 43% tint on the fronts but I was planning on putting 20% on the rears.

Anybody have a similar setup? I used to have 20%/35% (not a noticeable difference) but I don't want there to be too much of a difference between the front and back on the 20%/43% mix.

i would do all the windows the same percentage. to me it just looks funny when the fronts are lighter then the rear. ask him if he can do 35 all around.

I agree with this. I had 20% applied to all my windows and I got a ticket for it. The tint meter was reading 12%, which makes me curious what the windows are stock?

Agree 100%, the lighter front and darker rear just looks weird on a four door sedan.

I went 50% all around on my '06 - we also have a zero tint on front three windows law here, but I've yet to be hassled even with darker tint I've had before on other cars....I find with the RL's silver exterior and black interior the tint looks darker than it is anyway, more like 30%.

I would but he won't do darker than 43% on the fronts... maybe I can find someone else

hmmm... mine doesn't look tinted at all. That's strange!

What do you think about no tint on the fronts at all? To me that looks weirder than different tints, but I'm considering everything.

That looks really nice but it's too dark! I will get pulled over all the time! I guess I'll just do 43% all around.

I guess that's what I'm going to do... I have a light interior, but I know what you mean about having black leather and a tint. It looks tits!
