I waited close to 10 years and 50k over the recommended point on my CL and the wear was noticeable, but for how far I went over that's what I would expect for the recommended interval

Just picked up a 2006 RL, 85,000 miles. This is the 5th Acura I have owned, the first being an '86 Legend purchased in the lobby of a motel (before the dealership was built).
Can't speak to the rewards of driving beyond the recommended mileage for a new timing belt. Can say that following spec. has provided the rewards of no problems whatsoever.
