Sunroof

I leave my sunroof tilted when parked to vent the hot air and frequently I cannot close it again. When I slide the button all the way forward to auto-close the roof, it will close and then open again. I have stopped and re-started the car and that has frequently fixed it but not always. I suspect that the sensor is detecting too much current and it thinks that it is being smart by not chopping off your fingers but my fingers are not in the opening. It maybe the "closed" sensor that is not set correctly also.
Has anybody else seen this problem?

No, I've not seen anything of this sort and leave my sunroof tilted up when I think it will be quite hot in the car (with the Ebony interior, that's most of the time! <g>). Thankfully, the sunroof always has acted as it should upon returning to the car and wanting to close the roof so that you can get back to climate control.

I had a sunroof problem with the auto close feature not working. The tech showed me how to reset this by manually holding the sunroof button forward until the roof was all the way closed and then to keep holding the button forward while slowly counting to three. Then he held the button all the way back until the roof was all the way open and then slowly count to three. It reset the roof and all the auto functions worked again. Hope this helps.

I ran into similar issues with my sunroof. The dealer just needs to reset the software that controls the sunroof. They do it by a certain sequence of moving the sunroof control switch around. It should take a technician who knows the fix about 5 minutes to get you back up and running.

I had similar issue with my sunroof. The sunroof auto open or close did not work. I had to hold the buttons by self. But the sunroot opened all the way in, whitour the 5 inch gap. The dealer had to reprogram the sunroof. It was cool, they hookup the diagnostic laptop and reprogramed the whole thing.
