Stop HIDS from flashing when locking it
Stop HIDS from flashing when locking it
Basically I leave my lights in the AUTO postion and when I leave the car and lock it with the fob, they blink, and when I press the LOCK button on the fob again so I hear the beep to know it's locked, they flash again..
Is this normal or can I turn it off? I don't wanna have my HIDs constantly turning on and off when locking or unlocking the car with the fob.
It looks like if I hit the lock button fast enough a couple times it'll prevent the flash, but I still wanna see if I can prevent it without having to have fast finger work...

I don't think they're supposed to flash. There is a function to keep them on for a few seconds after you leave the car. I set mine to turn off when the driver door closes, or when the driver door gets opened, no flashing ever.
Having the lights blink or not when using the fob to lock/unlock is an option that can be set in the MID.

dwboston ok looks like that was helpful.. I knew about the settings when you hold down the ^ button on the wheel, but thought I tried that before, oh well... I got it fixed now and my HIDs aren't constantly flashing anymore (annoying, looks dumb, and hurts the lights) when I have to go in the car or I lock/unlock iit multiple times. I started using the dimple, too, which is a lot easier. Oh, and I left the beep ON in the user settings so I know it worked when I lock/unlock the car.
Thanks for the help!

I'm surprised to hear that is normal. That sort of operation has to be hard on the HID bulb components (ignitor, bulb etc.). It would make more sense to flash the halogen high beams if a headlight flash was desired.
