Yesterday when I turned(and released) the starter knob, the starter cranked for about 5 seconds before the engine started. I did this everytime I started the car('05). Today it continued, so stopped by the dealer to see if there was any known problems or quick repairs. It did it for them (!!!) and they will take it tomorrow morning to troubleshoot the problem. Has anyone else had this problem? Will keep you posted.

 

i think this occured to me once and so i tripped out, pulled my car over, turned off, then turned on again. I couldnt really say that there was a significant delay in the starting of the ignition but i am really curious as to the outcome of your dealer's diagnostics. please keep it posted. thanks

 

The dealer kept the car for two days and could find nothing! I wouldn't do it for them. The car cranked for about six seconds and would finally start in a rough manner. When I picked it up they said there were no codes nor could they find anything wrong. It didn't do it for them while it was there. I was told that if it happened again (it hasn't) they would contact Acura directly to resolve the problem.

 

I've had my car for ~ 1 year now. This has also occured ~ 4 times. I too mentioned it once to the dealer and they found nothing. It has not occured since my last maintenence.

 

it happened again to me today. im going to have it checked next week at the dealer when i go it to install my part. i'll keep u guys posted on the results
