SRS Light coming on

Has anyone had trouble with their SRS Light coming on in the MID?

I have an '07 Tech Package w/ 12K miles. Earlier this summer the SRS Light came on. I returned to the dealer to get it checked. They said it was a "bogus" message and reset the error.

A week or so later, the same thing happened. I again returned to the dealer only to have them reset it and send me on my way.

When the message appeared for a 3rd time, I was pissed. This time they replaced the Drivers side airbag.

Anyway, after replacing the airbag, all was well for a few weeks. Now, the light is back on. Has anyone had this problem?

The light is very frustrating. You must dismiss it before you can use the MID. And, it cannot be reset via a code. It has to be connected to their diagnostic computer.

I have another appt. Monday. We'll see what happens.

Envoke the lemon law stance if they can't get if fixed. I would think the SRS light would be a safety issue.

You do NOT need a lemon law, just work with the dealer and have them fix it properly, geesh.

It may be as simple as an airbag sensor, your tech may not be the best.

You could research other dealers that have top level techs, that are master level techs( pretty sure that is what they call it) and continue on their training.
They can also call Acura for advise.

Not to be meant to actually pursue it but to use as a pawn to get the job done right, geesh. Obviously, not enough troubleshooting is being done to solve the problem. What happens if SRS is needed and it does not operate as designed? A safety issue that needs to be addressed/fixed ASAP.

Hi All,

Had the RL back in today for the SRS light and B16 Service (13K mi)

No complaints on the service. All seems to be well.

For the SRS light, they had to order a "reel and cable" that goes in the steering wheel/column. They assure me that this will fix the problem and that they are not just throwing parts at the problem hoping for it to go away.

This was the 6th visit overall for this problem so far. I have at least 1-more visit to go.

2-visits I was told the error message was "bogus" and the light was reset.
1-visit - I made an appointment only to be told they had no record of the appointment when I showed up. Told to reschedule.
Re-scheduled visit - Diagnosed as bad airbag.
Return visit - to have the airbag installed. Kept it a couple days to be sure it was fixed.
Today's visit - Diagnosed as "reel and cable"
