Spark Plugs

Dealer wants $250 to change the 6 spark plugs that I would estimate cost $40. Has anyone changed theirs? Was it hard and how do you do it ??? 07 RL with 90,000 miles. Thanks!!.

i did it on my 05 TL....i guess the engine is laying the same way....

trust me its a 10 minute job....i thought it was tough but dayum i was WRONG....

follow this:
1> its supposed to be one by one
2> take the spark plug wires out (you would need a 6mm allen wrench)
3> take a spark plug socket and use an 6" extension on your wrench
4> take the spark plug out
5> the spark plug remover tool has a rubber gasket which gets stuck on the spark plug when you take it out....so while replacing the plug, dont put the rubber peice there, otherwise it will get stuck to the spark plug again LOL....
6> tighten the spark plug snugly....dont use tooo much force....and dont be a girl while tightening it....
7> repeat for other 5....the front 3 are a peice of cake....back 3 will be a little tough....but the only tough thing is the lack of space.....

dude imma post a video and trust me save yourself $250....am thinking of mods with that saved dough

please post a pic of your engine bay....will assist you better....

I took the cover off last night and the front three look easy but the back three as you said there is no room. They probaly did that on purpose so you have to take it back to them. The back three were easy????

All you need to do the rears is a little space management....in my TL i didnt even take my strut bar off.....be ready to get couple cuts in ur hands....

I think TL and RL both use the iridium plug right? they are a bit pricy to start with.... but not $250...... Just make sure you get the right plug

If it's anything like the MDX, the trick to getting the rear ones would be to use 2 three inch extensions instead of a single six inch extension. It shouldn't be that tough.
