Sold my 2005 RL to ar Max for $ 20K.

Got tired of the whinning issue and whine at 70 both issues the dealer did not address well even after showing then the bulletin. The service said the whine was not due to the propeller shaft but did not bother to look any further.

ALso had a/c issue, Nav issues and a sound amplifer issue. All fixed but raised too many questions in my mind.

Meanwhile I purchased a 2010 Lexus ES 350. Missing a few niceties of the RL
but a great riding auto . The lexusCkub forum doesn;t have much negative feedback on the Lexus. Actually most love the car.

Will look at the RL after the 2012 arrives.

Out of curiosity, where do you live? And how many miles were on your RL?

 

I live in Baltimore and the RL had 38000 miles.

I originally was going to buy a 2010 TL with Tech and had a great deal set up. But on the first drive I felt a bit uncomfortable with the head restraints, Drove the car the 2nd day and realized the headrests were tilted more forward than I was familiar with. Did a little research and found out the TL with Tech pkg has active head restraints which are designed to move up and forward in the event of a rear end collision so as to prevent whiplash.

Anyway I was offered 17.5K from the dealer and then went across the street to Car Max and was offered 20 K, The Acura dealer was going to match te Car Max Price but after thinking a bit decided I could not adjust to the head restraints.

 

my car had the same problem. the whinning noise at 70. my acura dealer got it fixed.
