Snow driving
Snow driving
I know quite a few people on here live in cold weather states. We got at least a foot and half of snow over the last 24 hours in my area. I've been off work all week so it's given me a lot of time to really play around in the snow with the RL. This car is great in the snow. Very predictable. The traction control will let you slide the back end around just enough I would think for the average driver. It steps in pretty quickly once the back end steps out much past the front end.
Turn the VSA off though...and it's a whole different beast. The SH-AWD constantly transferring the power to the outside rear wheel will put the car into a 4-wheel drift instantly when asked. Ease off the throttle, steer into the drift, back onto the throttle and it pulls the rear end back into shape right away. Donuts are a breeze and fairly tidy as well. Flooring it from a stop in the snow spins all four tires.
Just driving around the last 24 hours has been so much fun. Everybody in Denver stayed off the roads because of the snow. Nothing like having wide open roads and a full 2-3 lanes of room to step the back end out around every corner.
If you live in a snow state I highly suggest turning the VSA off and having some fun when you get a chance, even if it's just in a big open parking lot. I will add that my car is equipped with snow tires. This type of driving is not so advisable without winter tires.

I've been just doing that all winter long here in Montreal... I can't get enough. I can't forget the big smile on my face the 1st time I did it.
we're blessed over here.
