Hi. I'm brand new to this forum. I also just purchased my 3rd RL (but first 2nd Generation).
Question: What is the slot in the front bumper (right side) for?

Tow hook receptacle.

 

N Bob...Thanks but maybe I wasn't clear...it's the 2" by 2" slot built right into the bumper (it was a plastic cover over it)...that has a round coupler-type gizmo...and it's only on the right side...again, in the bumper and near the sport light.

 

Tow hook receptacle. You have a tow hook along with the jack in your trunk. If you need to be towed, you screw the tow hook into the round receptacle after opening the slot in the bumper.

This is a bad time to mention flatbeds to Bob.
