Question Side Mirror "Creep"?

I've been keeping an eye on it, and I've determined my driver's side mirror "creeps". Every day or so, I find that it's "adjusted itself" slightly upward. I keep my toggle on the right mirror (for parking purposes) and have to switch over and pull the mirror straight down.

Anyone else have "mirror creep"?

My passenger side mirror had the opposite tendency which was to pivot down correctly when I backed up, but would fail to go all the way back to the home position. I put up with it for about 2 weeks and finally had the dealer look at it. They replaced the entire mirror assembly and I haven't had a problem since.

I haven't been back to the dealer since I began to notice this, but I have figured out when the mirror creeps: when I unlock the door. Upon opening/unlocking the driver's door, the mirror makes a tiny upward adjustment under power.

Everything else, as they say, seems to work fine: the passenger mirror pivots and resets as it's supposed to when I back up, and the driver's mirror will do so if I slide the switch over that way.

It's a poltergeist?

There was something awhile back, about a mirror control module that needed replacement. IIRC, the symptoms were more along the lines of creep downward, not upward, however.

Actually, just found it in the garage, but it is a creep downward, not upward

Thanks, Chas! I think that's a different manifestation, but who knows? Good to have in hand when I show up.
