service records
service records
How do I get the service records of my car?
The original dealer will not send them to me, privacy.
Acura will not get involved, I called them.
My dealer called them few times but I think he received only partial records.
Any ideas?

You can check Carfax. Many dealers submit service records to Carfax. When I was in the process of trading my RL for the CTS-V, I did a CarFax out of curiousity and many of my service records were on the report.
The report will say "vehicle serviced" and if the dealer provided details of the service, they will be listed as well. For example, on my RL, an "electrical service" was noted; on the date in question, I'd had my backup camera installed (the report didn't say that).
HTH a little.

Two possibilities....
Some service and repairs are reported to CARFAX.
Another is to register the VIN with MyAcura.com and see if any of the repairs appear from AcuraLink. It may be owner specific, and it would have required the owner to schedule the appointments with OwnerLink (now MyAcura).
But ultimately, the dealer is not likely required to release those records. Why they would not, is beyond me. If you have a good relationship with your current dealer, they could run the VIN just to find what warranty and Acura certified repairs and service was done. That is likely the 'partial' records they were able to obtain.

I recently requested the same information from the Acura dealer I bought my 2005 RL from. They claim they didn't have access to the prior service records. I later went to another Acura dealer locally that has a far better service department and asked the service manager who I've had a good working relationship the same question. He stated that he didn't have access to that information (guess dealerships don't share the information); however, when I asked him if the car had all the safety recalls performed, he was able to access that information from another server.
According to him, Acura Corp stores information regarding issued safety recalls, but not information regarding general/routine maintenance.
I know that isn't exactly the information you wanted, but I thought it might offer some insight.
