Managed to get to 115mi last night after a cruise to Seattle! No cel no issues whatsoever! Will report as the mileage continues to build.. Also those looking for some real power, adding a billet oil cap really works!!!! 26 WHP atleast!! Lol!

Anyways side note this thing used to be sluggish from 60-100 mph not anymore

Ok here's a better sound clip so you all can better guage the exhaust note.. Remember this mod was dOne for PoWer not sound! Which in my book is damn good!

I have a 2009 RL and it is a 2.5 generation. Richie and I talked yesterday and the current Jpipe and High flow precats don't fit. I live close to his shop so he is going to make them custom for me.

Nice!

Also, I've placed my order for the jpipe. Richie said that he had just had his welder do two so they have some on hand and that my order will ship in 24-48 hours, awesome!

I sure hope so! Ive thrown about 1.5k into my car in the last 30 days and I still plan on doing the wood grain steering wheel + stock sized lightweight crank pulley

Lets see (this month):
Condensor Went Bad $600/($300 dollar split with my father) = $300
USA Spec iPod Kit = $135
NavTool Video Kit = $210
Sound Dapening Materials = $230
JPipe = $469
Various other tools and parts = ~$100

Next Month:
Timing Built/Water Pump/All New Fluids/(Possibly Brakes) = Lots of money > $500 Think my father has this one covered
Lightweight Alluminum Crank Pully $160-$220
Fixing Foglights / Headlight Renewal = ~100 in parts/tools
I wanna do wood grain steering wheel depending on how much I have left

After this is done I am done doing any upgrades and hopefully any repairs for at least 60,000 miles

Thank god I am a teenager going to college with a good job and no living expenses (I live with my parents) So I put about 60% of my paycheck into savings and the rest goes to fun stuff (This car)

Anyway back on topic: does the car feel weak anymore taking off from red lights? I always feel like I have to hit higher rpm's (~3,500) to take off from a red light with decent acceleration.

I found some dyno's from 2010 from a thread on the RL with before and after a dual true exhaust upgrade...we should see similar results hopefully...added about 15whp and 20ft-lb if I remember correctly

Oh, and how hard should this install be if I do it myself? My friend is loaning me an impact wrench to hook up to my compressor and I bought some of this stuff to help with getting the bolts off easy:

I felt the sluggishness too, with the pcd and j pipe that is gone! Ichi D says nothing but excellent things about just having the J pipe so you should be good! As for install of just the j pipe, if you've unbolted an exhaust before your good! If you've losened a few nuts before your good! There is I believe 9 nuts or bolts that need to be taken off to remove the stock j pipe! So your good! Lol as for cost don't get me a
Started! I'm well over 3k in just wheels and tires player! You pay to play not matter what walk of life! Happy modding kid!

There shouldn't be a CEL because there are no sensors after this pipe right? Also estimated delivery is Saturday! If I get this thing this weekend I will be super pumped

EDIT: Oh you have the PCD's nvm, I was thinking you just had Jpipe

Correct on the sensor issue, there are de fouler for pcd, as for j pipe there are none to be concerned about!! I'd be bitin my nails super bad waitin on a car! I go crazy just waitin for parts! My pulley and sway bar came today!! maybe install or paint calipers tomorrow I'm slacking right now! Honda tech meet is June 9 trying to pull off the cleanest RL/legend in the NW!

Matt, the RL has a butterfly valve on the intake that is only half open before 3500 rpm. At that point it opens fully. At 4900 rpm, VTEC kicks in, yo.

If you are looking for acceleration, you should only see below 3500 rpm in first gear. If you are hitting VTEC, you will not drop below that after an upshift. While the RL is critiqued for being porky and under powered, it can still run 0-60 in 6.6s, stock. I'm not sure what you are looking for, but you are either doing it wrong, or you bought the wrong car.

My guess is the prior.

Fuck! The last nut connecting the existing Jpipe to the exhaust has stripped, these nuts/bolts get replaced anyway...Can I cut it off with a dremel or should I tighten the other ones up and take it to get it professionally installed Monday?

Yeah so today sucked work on it for like 5 hours and this is my progress...Fyi this is the on connecting the Jpipe to the existing exhaust system the other ones should be easy because they can easily be taken off with an impact wrench.

I was able to get the impact wrench on the other one and it came off freaking easy..

How much will it cost if I go to a shop and get the bolt cut off and the Jpipe installed?

Also here is the beauty!

Mine was stuck from j pipe oem to pcd they are double threaded bolts we cut the bottom nut off and backed it out from up top. Anyway if you can get that head off you should be able to take a screw driver stick it in there and tap it out. I can't imagine paying more than 40$ for what you need but I'm here in Tacoma and muffler shops are a dime a dozen.

Yeah there is only one shop I think I can trust that won't charge me a ridiculous price. There is another one on top that is really hard to get to. I bought an impact socket that I was able to get up there but it looked like it was going to strip the head so I stopped. Do you remember how you got this one off? Its the top one where the Jpipe connects to the exhaust system (mufflers etc)

I stripped one of those too I then banged a 13mm on there after soaking with PB blaster and used a breaker bar and it finally came off. I did remove the entire exhaust with j pipe attached to get more leverage and prevent stripping any more you'd be suprised how easy things are when your not cramped under the darn vehicle the exhaust came off very simple I pulled it alone. However reinstalling I needed a hand it was Heavy after my 10hr ordeal 2 of those hours dealing with just jpipe to exhaust bolts!!!!

I'd drop the exhaust to ensure not stripping if your determined to do it yourself! Also youll be able to cut that other bolt off with ease!

holy crap, so the TL's PCD's fit right on the RL? I'm so in, get the pcd's and the jpipe, then get my custom exhaust done. 235RL...do you have a custom exhaust on at all, hard to tell from that vid.

I couldn't even wait, lol...ordered both the jpipe and pcd's...should go great with my custom 4" intake I made. Glad I did this rather than buy new wheels. Now I need to get off my but and put the Aspec suspension on.

Hey 253RL, great videos and your girl can rev and drive! LOL.

Glad you guys are having fun with this. I loved having an exhaust on my RL and if I still had it, I'd buy a J pipe to support the cause.

Is there a guy named Ling Lee at RV6? I got an emailed about my address not being confirmed and asking me to scan in my driver id or military id, or, etc, etc.

Seemed like a phishing scam at first lol...I even checked and my paypal shows my address as confirmed.

Or maybe it's legit and my job makes me a little skidish on emails like that.

I think it was legit, still not sure why it popped up as unconfirmed, but I did some searching and Ling is legit, she works for the shipping and maintaining of the website.

ordered the PCD's and J-Pipe, first mod for the RL I'm doing. The Low-End really hurts on this car. It was the main reason this thread intrigued me, I hope it lives up to the hype when I get it. Will try and purchase the lightweight pulley as well.

Wow those J pipes look sweet! You have me thinking now...
Just a thought, might it be a good idea to spray that hardware down with PB Blaster the night before the install? It has to improve the odds of removal.

I sprayed PB blaster 5 times on one of the nuts and I couldn't get it off!

I had to take it in this morning to get those bolts/nuts removed and they wouldnt install my JPipe! They said they aren't allowed to remove any catalytic converters! Anyway those were the hard bolts so I should be able to get the others off with my impact wrench when I get home. Does anyone know of some shady shops near or in Omaha, NE that would do this kind of work?
