Roof Spoiler

Found another option of roof spoiler instead of Sarona for much cheaper price. What do you guys think, yay or nay?

Unpainted... It looks fine, but how much is the Sarona?

I've really contemplated a roof spoiler for my car. I like the look of this one but am questioning the quality. Look at the ripple in it.

I also wonder how it would look without having the weather stripping on the top painted to match. On a black car I'm sure it's fine but might look kind of weird on a different color car when you have black weather stripping that runs into it.

Sarona is fiberglass...you can't easily "bend" fiberglass and "stiffer" material in general which can lead to fitment issue even if it's 100% fit.

A lot of people with TLs get the same roof spoiler and they had no problems

I'll prob get it around April and report back

Please report back. I'm interested in this spoiler. Fitment looks great, much better than most of the universal fitment ones I've seen around.

It would be nice to have a little more variety to choose from for the roof spoiler. I prefer more of a flat roof spoiler that is even with the roof and sticks out. I would def go with the sarona cause its fiberglass.

At least 25, but the real gains are in the considerable amounts of down-force.

I like the look. I got one of these for my wifes 12' accord exl painted to match. It has a m5 look. All it is is rubber/plastic molding that you bend around the curve of the window with 3m double sided tape..feels cheap but when its on its quite sturdy.

post a pick if you get it...i'm considering it for the RL

Iordered this spoiler and just dropped it off for paint. I’ll post pictures thisweekend. I believe the ripple that BDoggPrelude pointed outcan be fixed with a better application of 3M adhesive. After playing aroundwith the unpainted spoiler I was able to get a clean fitment with multiple stripsof 3M. We shall see after paint.

So what's the scoop? Did you get it installed? Comments? Pictures?

I think I'll get this soon. Need suggestions for color. I have a DMM with black/charcoal color rims. Should I paint the roof spoiler black to match the moonroof visor and the rims or color match the body ?

I'm also considering to pick up one of these roof spoilers. How much is it for paint a local shop? Don't wanna buy a $100 spoiler and spend $500 to paint it.

It should only be about $100-$200 to have it painted depending on your color.

I PMed 5280KB1 to see if he can come back and give us an update. Considering that was his one and only post, I'm not holding my breath. I'm assuming he lives in Denver because of his screen name.

BTW, judging by the seller's feedback over the last 12 months, people seem to be happy with these roof spoilers. Only one negative and a couple neutral feedback ratings out of 600 concerning fitment. Not too bad. I didn't see any feedback from RL owners though. I think I may just go ahead and order it. I'm not too concerned about $100.

Gor something from UPS today:

Initial impressions...it's pretty stiff. The instructions say to prep it with 400 grit sandpaper before painting. The seller also has a video on YouTube showing how to heat it up to make it more flexible so that it will shape to the contour of the window. I emailed the seller and asked if I should shape it before or after painting and I'm waiting for a response. I've got a guy that will paint it for $100 but if I can find a shop that will do it for close to that I'll probably use them instead. I'll keep everybody posted.

I would think shape then paint.

Let me know how it works. My non-Aspec gets real squirrely at about 120-130 depending on conditions.

Prepped with 400 grit sandpaper, heated per the seller's instructions, shaped to rear window, let it cool overnight and now it's off getting painted. Hopefully will have it back from paint on Thursday or so.
