Sucks...unless they can't get that lugnut off by some other method, they'll have to saw off the lug itself.

Get yourself a socket you are willing to throw away.

Get a size one step down from one that will slide completely over the lock.

Put the smaller socket on a ratchet extension and hammer it onto the wheel lock.

If all goes well the socket will be jamed onto the outsed of the rim lock and you "should" be able to unscrew it.

good luck

Although the 09 stock rims do look better than 05-08! Maybe it was someone that really wanted to de-PAX badly.

Just kidding.

037, I am sorry to hear that happened. Will insurance cover this kind of damage? I would be careful that you do not damage your wheels. I have heard of many people trying to take off the broken or otherwise damaged locks, and messing up their wheels in the meantime.

Maybe you check with insurance to see what your coverage is. Then check with the dealer and see how they would treat damage to the wheels if they damage them getting the locks off. If satisfactory coverage, then let the dealer take it off, so if he damages anything, it is on his insurance first, then yours.

In addition to the link, just Google "emergency lugnut removal sockets" and you'll find a bunch ranging in price from about $3.00 to $25.00 for what appears to be the same thing. Also some on ebay.

key fit fine and I was able to get the bad lock off, it also looks like I bought the wrong Gorilla's as my original lugs have a washer...and for whatever reason I picked the kind of Gorilla's that would fit my old car...

That is really interesting that your original lugs have a washer, because that is not what the parts manual says. As you know, the parts manual says the 2009 uses the M14 ball seat lug, which is actually the same lug as the 2007+ MDX uses.

Did they give you the wrong lock set, by chance? The flat seat with washer was the correct lock set for 2005-2008 RLs, or do your wheels really have a flat seat?

Do the non-lock lugs have a washer also?

I thought you might ask...so I took some photos. Hopefully they will answer everything I can't remember.

I don't think the lugs had a washer on them, just the locks.

that lock wasn't easy to remove at all, after some efforts it came off and appeared cracked throughout one side.

If the non-lock lugs have no washers, and look like this, then they gave you the wrong locks. No washers is consistent with the part catalog M14 wheel nut.

The flat washer lug looks like this and exactly as your picture showed.

Then they delivered with the wrong locks. I can understand why if they did not understand that the lug seat changed in 2009. I was ready to make the blanket statement that the RL always used flat seat lugs with a washer until I decided to look it up just in case. I noticed the 2009 Ridgeline also went to the ball seat from the flat seat with washer.
