RL vs. GS350 AWD

According to lexus.com the GS350 AWD can get from 0-60 in 5.8 seconds. That's pretty fast considering the HP and torque numbers aren't that much different from that of the RL's. Perhaps it's the gearing ratio?

More power, less weight and 6 speed tranny are a few of the reasons.

what i don't get is how the v8 only gets 290 hp, and the v6 gets 303 hp. more torque replaces horsepower?

The V-6 got updated before the 8. Wait for the next-gen V-8 ...

I test drove the GS 350 AWD a few days ago. Nice car and slightly better acceleration than the RL, but the nav and other electronic gadgets are subpar. The car I drove had the dealer installed chrome molding over the B pillars. They made awful wind noise even when cruising at 30 mph. The RL is definitely a MUCH better buy than the GS, considering the bargain price that Acura is now offering.
