Took the RL on a sheet of ice in an open parking lot last winter and floored it, car took off and stayed as stable as it would have on dry pavement. This was with all season goodyear eagles. Never had a probelm with this car in snow, ice or rain. Very stable and great traction. Its all in the tire.

Tires for sure. My car is still on OEM tires. My gripe about this car isn't the AWD system, the weakest link in the RL is the tires. Acura shipped this car with what is in my mind the worst possible tire. Different tires should solve your dilemna

To Acura's defense, they were selling the car to old farts who can't hear themselves think and throw their back out when they go over speed bumps. The OEM tires are one of the most comfortable and quiet tires on the market. Old farts' bones hurt too much to drive when it's cold, so winter traction wasn't a big selling point.

To be frank, in the 2G RL section going on December of 2012, you should have had plenty of opportunity to change over to a set of tires that you like.

No they aren't...they are loud, loud LOUD. I couldn't believe the difference in road noise when I replaced those POS tires. 1 of the few fault Consumer Reports finds when they review Acuras\Hondas is how loud they are when they have the OEM Michelins on them.

As Bdogg and others have said...tires play a large part of traction...I used to have an Integra GSR with Studded snows when I lived in Vermont, and the only issue I had was with ground clearance if the snow got too deep.

My RL has never left me stranded\stuck due to snowfall or Icy conditions

Bottom line; get decent tires, you will be fine.

Improve your language skills (your mother may be reading this).
If by reading the first post and replying means I have read the thread, then I guess so. I also laugh and pity ignorant people like you that think for some reason with age comes wisdom and knowledge and that since you are older than me you are smarter that me. Lastly, I highly doubt my mother is reading this, but I can say with 99.9% certainty that your mother is not (hope you enjoy my vocabulary).

That is abusive and totally uncalled for. You demonstrate your inability to contribute to this forum with you childish, self serving and uncivil dialog. You bash the brand, bully members and have far crossed the line of acceptable behavior. And yet you demand information from forum members with this kind of disgusting rhetoric.

I implore the mods to act on this.

Since the child thinks he can cover his tracks, this is the orginal post:

Once the mods have dealt with this imbecile, please delete this post along with his access to our community.
