RL sales UP 26% in July 2010

172 sold, up from 131 sold last July. Up 26.4% year-year, and now down only 12.4% for the year to date.

Mine was one of those 172 units. Struggling with programming the Homelink to my Genie opener now. It is frustrating. Anyone have tips?

suggest you start a new thread with your issue as suibject and you will probably get more response.
I do recall a thread about this though - so you should search the forum

Use that site. It has helped me with every car I've owned with Homelink (three Acuras, wifey's Pilot, and now my Cadi).

Thanks for the help and suggestions guys - I have done all of those. I really think my 1 button is faulty - I can't get it to program. 2 & 3 are fine.

I called the tech at Homelink and he talked me through it. He was very helpful and admitted that the manual is NG.

There are very few cars that can sell an additional 41 cars and increase the sales percentage by 26%!

It sounds like the distribution was increased enough to enable more sales. Perhaps Acura is cleaning out the inventory in anticipation of the updated model? It certainly has not been by marketing. Sales 'demand' has been controlled by inventory availability the last 2 years.

With the Saitama plant not producing new RLs & LEGENDS for close to a year, I wonder how much re-tooling was done to enable another updated version. I can hope....

Even if Acura produces a styling refinement less obnoxious, I still expect an apology from Acura. In writing. Delivered to me personally. Along with a replacement for my Dave Marek Voodoo doll.

could they be dealing more on price too? Maybe since the model is not being built anymore are dealers trying to blow out what they have left and as a result - prices are better? as the price drops - the RL becomes an even better value. I'm sure a huge percentage of RL buyers chose it, not because it was the "fastest" or "best handling" but because it represented an excellent value - it was a ton of luxury for a good price...

as price comes down, it would become an easier decision to buy an Acura RL for many woudl be buyers..

just a thought..

Well, the price I paid was $3250 below dealer nvoice ($45.2 - $41.95) and that did help to persuade me to give the RL another shot at redemption. The styling is beginning to grow on me - the value helps to tame the twang in my mouth for the styling.

Miner, I really like the RonJon grille. It's mostly the snaggle tooth that repels everybody.

Congrats on your new baby!

I actually got a pretty nice sales brochure on the RL in the mail the other day. It was unsolicited so Acura must be getting proactive in marketing the car. They're about 4 years late on that though.

Better late than never? Maybe it goes along with the executive vice pres' comment of "we can't scrap it"?

I got the brochure also. At one point I felt Acura did not care to retain existing customers as the styling became so offensive and distasteful. I really felt Acura did not care if it turned off it's existing client base as the new keen-edge-power-phlegm would just open up a whole new market for them.

Now they want to crawl back to me and woo me back? All of a sudden I am a valuable customer?

Until I see it, not budging. I still want that formal apology from Acura. In writing. Hand delivered.
