RL Purchase: Looking for Pricing Info...

Hola!!!

I am looking at purchasing a 2009 Acura RL w/Tech and would like to know what others paid for their vehicle.

So far I have received a quote for a:

2009 RL w/Tech for $47,995.
2009 RL w/Tech, Decklid Spoiler, and color-matched mud guards for $49,797.

These prices seem a bit high to me, but please let me know if my expectation of picking up this car for invoice or under is reasonable for this specific vehicle.

Regards,

Paul

Welcome to the RL side of AZ! Try looking in the RL Owner Sign In thread at the top of the forum. Only one person I know of so far has purchased a 2009 RL, and that person paid invoice. He bought in California.

Acura has limited availability of the 2009 RL because its sales are so awful, presumably in an attempt to keep the purchase price up.

Hi Paul,

Your prices seem high, especially the one with the spoiler and mud guards. The spoiler is only ~$500, and the mudguards are maybe ~$200? Not worth the the $2000 they want to tack on.

As Bob mentioned, these cars should be readily available for invoice cost.

It's a great car, I hope you find the color and options you are looking for!

Chris

Thanks for the insight...

I just wanted to make sure my theory was sensible. So far I have received another quote for $51,212. I was told it was sticker plus my add-on's... So far these are Maryland dealers. I haven't tapped into the Virginia market yet to see what they have to offer.

I would think Internet pricing would save me some of the work of negotiating in person, but I am obviously wrong.

If you can find it, new 08 techs are selling for 10k less than you were quoted. You should be able to buy a low mileage 07 tech for just over 30k...the 06 for 25k, and the 05 for 20k. I paid 38k for my 07 (non-tech) and put in an ebay oem acura nav unit and backup camera for another 500. I think that was a good deal...but before I'd pay 48k, I would shop used, left overs, or an Infiniti M35 and stick 9k in my back pocket.

That is a great point. I have added the 2008 model year to my search criteria. Even though I may be one of the only individuals who prefer the updates in styling made to the 2009.

Thanks for your input and help,

Paul

I had pretty good luck getting internet quotes from couple of MD dealers in the past. But if you are not opposed to VA, definitely try Pohanka. Keep in mind, they normally charge 399 processing fee, but of course it's negotiable. Good Luck.

I have been looking for a new car. Always liked the Acura RL, can't put my finger on why, but I really do. I always wanted a M3, then the Jaguar XF came out. I always seem to come to the RL, why?

I saw the 09 RL today and the back looked like the Honda Accord sedan. It might just be me but if I'm paying that much I don't want my car to be confused with a Honda Accord sedan. I think the 09 TL is a much better deal than the 09 RL.
