RL pricing? 6MT?

I am new to the Acura world again, had a GSR in HS, just got a 05 TL, and am already looking for whats next. I am interested in the new RL big time, just curious whats the A-Spec gonna cost, and does the RL come in a 6 speed?

The ones at my current dealer are in the 48-50 range, so I figure an Aspec would be 65-70?

Anyone have any comments about their RL or any idea about the 6 speed availabilty and or how much the ASpec is gonna cost, TIA!

Matt

The RL won't come in a 6 speed, there is no market for it.

they said the same thing about the TL for 5 years and guess what they were wrong.

That may be true, but the TL's primary competitors are the G35 and 3 Series, both of which come with 6-speeds (even though Acura used the 5 Series as the benchmark for the TL.)

The RL's primary competitors are the GS, M, 5 Series, and E-Class. I believe the M5 still comes with a 6-speed, but I don't think the E-Class does (even in AMG trim) and I know the GS and M don't.

The competition in this class is different.

Too bad the market needs to consist of more than a few people...I often think people don't udnerstand car companies are in the business of making money and can't always please the wishes of a small minority.

A market is a specified category of potential buyers. Repeat - category. One person can constitute a target market if that person brings in enough sales, but do you bring in millions of dollars in sales?

If you are, you can get whatever you want

No one answered the A-Spec question, but although I do not know the exact pricing it is DEFINITELY not a $10-15K package. I would think more like $4.5-7K depending on the dealer and the profit margin.

There is no market for it at all, not just the 6 speed. I heard from my district manager, the 6 Acura dealers in his district only sold a total of 6 RL in the month of March!.
