RL not starting up...

THis is strange and thought someone might have experienced this as well. Car ran great until about 3 weeks ago. I ran into a supermarket for 10-15 minutes leaving the engine off but radio playing (wife & kids in car) and come back to start the car and the car won't start. I hear like a quick faint click click click noise. I turn the car off and waited 10-15 minutes and then it started up (but I get check engine oil light). THis has no happened 2x to me. I had my mechanic check it out bc my first guess was the battery was dead but he said my battery was fine. I have an 05 RL with 48K Miles. Any ideas? My wife thought it might be some sort of security feature? Fob stays in the car at all times though...Thanks in advance. Greg

I think your mechanic is wrong. I bet battery.
Do you have the "classic" low battery symptom. If you have your sterring wheel set to telescope out/in, the classic low battery symptom is the wheel stops telescoping out during start-up.

^+1. Time for a new battery. When was yours replaced? They only last 4-5 yrs typically.

I'm on my 3rd battery for my 05

On a side note, why can't I edit my own post anymore. Just edited one earlier today, but now I cannot

I think I see - can you only edit before someone else posts after you?

okay, I just checked and the steering wheel does not telescope in/out. I went to my mechanic again today and he tested the battery and it passed. I think I will just get another battery bc it is the original from 2005 so it has been 6 yrs. Thanks for the advice.

wow! you got 6 yrs out of an Acura battery? that's impressive. mine only lasted 3 yrs on #1 and then 3 yrs and a few months on the 2nd in my 05 TL.

but to your problem...battery would be my first choice. sometimes you might get the interior light and dash flickers when you try and start the car with a slow turnover.

Acura/honda batteries are notorious for crapping out early in their life no matter what the battery has been rated for (100 mos.....uh huh....yeah right).
