RL nav system

So my sister was test driving an MDX and I tagged along to check it out. Nice vehicle, but I noticed that the Nav system was much clearer and less grainy than the RL.

I'm sure this is the same type of Nav in the newer RLs so I was wondering if was even possible to swap out the older Nav (05-08) display with the new one. Just curious. I'm sure it would be expensive as hell but the traffic display on the 2nd gen is hard to tell.

Anyone have an RL with the improved display?

No one has an RL with an improved display, even the 2011. The 2010+ MDX is an MMC and received the newer HDD based nav system with VGA display. RL's have not been given the same upgrade yet.

To more specifically answer the OP's question. Switching out the display alone will not get you the better resolution. Just like hooking up an HD display to a non-HD cable box, you also need the higher resolution signal that comes from the nav system.
