Looking to buy RL

Hi,
I am a 98CL and 07 MDX owner and it is time to replace the CL so I looked at the 07-08 TL but didn't care for the ride and noise levels. Now I am looking into buying a 2006-2008 RL. My aim is around 50-60K miles and planning to spend around 20-24K.
Any models/trim to avoid and anything to watchout for?
I've heard some bad things about the run-flat tires. I do like the Tech trim but not excited about the run-flat tires that go with it.
ANy input is greatly appreciated.

The Tech Pkg doesn't include PAX. You have to spring for the CMBS/ACC Pkg for the PAX.

Edit: I meant on the 07-08 models. The 06 Tech pkg includes PAX.

purchase 06 RL w/ Tech package w/ 31,000 miles for $21.9 last December. Private sell so avoided paying sales tax which helped around. I had $25k in mind so went ahead and purchase extended warranty (5 years/75k miles) for another $1.8k so car is now covered for 5 years and 100,000 miles. Absolutely love it.

Flat-tire is somewhat terrible in terms of replacing tires. So I just recently took them out and put new aftermarket rims (ronjons legend). Since I plan to keep the car until wheels fall off, doing this seemed to be better long-term solution.

Don't let the flat-tire stop you from getting tech package on 06 model. ACC/CMBS are worth the extra penny IMO.

I got rid of my 98CL for my 06 RL (and in a year or so be buying a certif. 08-09 MDX).

Did NOT want to put another tranny in that CL.....But I loved her. Not to offend, but the 98CL was cheese compared to the RL, but it is what you would expect from a $50,000 car. The CL was absolute night and day diff compared to the RL. And I had the 3.0. All wheel drive is the $h!T! You will NOT be disappointed.

Got my RL two years ago. Personally, Id buy a certified car through Acura and get any warranty you can for piece of mind. Might be too late though for a 05-07 though. But that is just me.

Ive heard the 06s were the best year as far as "older" years go. I'd avoid a 05 due to the first year bugs, but maybe they've been worked out by now.
I avoided the PAX only because of cost of replacement tires, but that was really all. I just lucked into mine with 29,000mi and a immaculate lease turn in at the right place at the right time. Shes still perfect!

Acura gave me $4,500 for my CL with 125,000mi. as a trade in. But that was 2 years ago and I got a pretty sweet deal on both ends.

Thanks for all the info guys.
Do the PAX come in a specific size? could I just swap them for regular tires.
I want to keep the OEM wheels so not looking to change them.
My ultimate goal is a nice quiet car that has a really comfy ride and great reliability and the RL seems to fit the bill.

These cars are really hard to come by especially since I'm looking for a white one.
My Cl is white and I just love it. the MDX is black but not making the same mistake twice. (Black is a nice color but really hard to keep clean)

check the blackmarket. Plasticman is one of the moderators and he is selling his A-Spec RL for a great price. Car is clean and mileage is extremly low!
