RL Final Sale
RL Final Sale
I'm expecting to pick up my new RL next Tuesday or Wednesday. Based on your experience or what you've heard is there's anything my dealer will try to sell me at the last minute - any accessories, features, service enhancements, etc?
In other messages here I've seen some mention that they try to sell me an upgrade to OnStar or a switch to Verizon wireless service (which I already have), etc. What should I expect?

The last step is dealing with the finance manager at the business office. Here at my dealership, they tried to sell me 4 things: the AcuraCare extended warranty, GAP insurance, Road (specifically TIRE) hazard and some kind of vehicle recovery insurance similar to LOJACK. The manager was pretty persuasive in selling the extended warranty and the tire hazard thing. I declined all.
Salesman may try to sell you exterior protection package and interior protection package. Looks like "rust proofing" just won't die.
The Onstar comes with the RL for one year with a lesser(60 day?) trial of the onstar phone. The XM radio also is free for one year. The salesman did not invite me to extend either of these. However, I expect to here from Onstar and XM before the year is out. May get the XM because that is mostly what I listen to now in my RL.

Forgot to add:
And, of course, your salesman will review the optional accessories. I got the mats (nice in chicagoland winter), trunk liner (nice protection), trunk net (didn't install the "right" way - don't find it all that useful), and the wood shift knob (my favorite...smooth and classy!). You should go to the Acura website to look over the accessories and decide what you want before negotiating if you can get any of the items included in your purchase. If they aren't discounted, you can buy them on the web for less.
Good luck with your purchase!!

My dealer didn't try to sell me a single thing. When I came in for delivery it was professional as all get out. Some time with the finance manager to fill out the appropriate papers for the loan then handed off to the "delivery guy" (my term) that spent about an hour going over all the features of the car and stressing that if I had any questions to just call and ask. This was McGrath Acura of Westmont (Illinois) by the way.
If you are interested in the extended warrantly, I would first to to the CurryCare site to get their online price:

When I said that I could get a good price online, my finance guy immediately drew a chart out from his drawer, quoted me the price and said he would meet it.
