RL DIY Survey

How many fellow RL owners do most or all of their own maintenance work themselves? If you do, where do you draw the line as to what you do or will attempt (eg, oil change, rear differential, brakes, etc) and what you will leave to the dealer service department (eg, valve adjustment, A-spec suspension, etc). For myself, I have done my first two oil changes (very easy) and have installed a wood steering wheel, wood shift knob and rear backup sensors myself-all were very straightforward for me (YMMV). I am now considering if I want to do the rear diff fluid myself and use the $100 in savings to go to a nice restaurant. TIA for your feedback.

I will generally do 100% of the work on all of my vehicles but I intend to let the dealership handle the RL for most things. If I get any parts of the aspec kit though I will be installing them myself but as far as maintenance goes, they can do it until something happens to make me lose their trust.

Definitely a DIY'er here.. 3 oil changes, 1 diff fluid change, rear spoiler installation, snow tire swap, dozens of washes and 4 waxing sessions. Once I convince my wife that she *needs*the full A-Spec kit and suspension, I'll probably do that as well.

I'm pretty sure god created Saturday afternoons for wrenching

Since you did your diff fluid change, I have a couple of questions for you. Did you need to buy new crush washers for the diff fluid change? Also, what did you use to fill the case with the new ATF? Finally, did you do it on the ground, or did you have a hoist or other aid to get under the car? TIA.

I'm also interested in knowing if you tried to keep the car level at refill or you just measured the exact amount of fluid to put in at an angle.

I let my dealer perform all of the service work. Besides, they offer free oil change service during the life of the warranty period.
