RL 05 - Problems with the OEM alarm system and car functions. - Please Help!
hello, I have a problem, it turns out that my 2005 RL, i always used the keyless to open my doors normally as it should be. But... it never activated the alarm systems, I could not use the Driver's Outer Handle Touch, to activate the locks, I could only use the Passenger's Outer Handle Touch. The trunk wouldn't lock and even if I locked the doors, I could open it as if it had nothing, which I didn't like since I don't have a garage and I didn't want to run into the unpleasant surprise of finding a dead body or drugs in it, left by some random person. Reading the manuals of the car, I found out how the system worked and that everything that doesn't work for me should work for me.
then searching the internet I discovered that possibly my alarms are deactivated, and with that learned, I decided to look for how they were activated, discovering that it is deactivated when you disconnect the cable from the hood, then my logic says that maybe it is disconnected and that's why it did not work, in that thought I open the hood and remove the plastic discovering that if it was connected, which puzzled me, then what I did was disconnect it and reconnect it. To my surprise, it activated a red blinking light in the tachometer and the trunk closed and opened when I locked and unlocked with the key and the Driver's Outer Handle Touch started to work.
But the problem is the following, as it turns out that when the alarm is activated:
1. the Driver's Courtesy Light went out.
2. Master Power Windows didn't work with any of the windows, even the doors themselves.
3. Passenger's Door Outer Handle Lights do not turn off, even when you lock the doors and wait more than 1 hour.
4. The Sunroof does not work.
5. The alarm goes off every 10 seconds and disturbs the neighbors.
When I saw all that I decided to disconnect the cable from the hood and within minutes everything went back to normal. to how it was before, and so far I have continued to use it that way.
What do you think it could be?
