RL 05 - Change the instrument cluster - Please Help!
Hello! I would like to know what is the procedure to change the instrument cluster of my Acura RL 05?
I want to change it since the speedmeter lights stopped working apart from the fact that I have damaged the MID screen.
What would be the steps I should take?
What numbering or code should I take into consideration?
If I change the instrument cluster, are the MID settings lost?

Start with Google... buy an instrument cluster that is in working condition... and you can follow roughly the same instructions steps shown in the video:
Search for this video on youtube: "HOW TO REPLACE 2004-2008 ACURA TL SPEEDOMETER CLUSTER TUTORIAL" - for some reason it won't show YT video here if I paste a link...

and the MID settings are lost?
and the odometer?
Although if we're being honest with having a damaged MID screen, I really don't care much about those numbers.
I would solder the lights, and I would remove the middle screen from the donor and install it in place of the broken one.
I don't think this option is a good idea, since it is a very delicate job, one false step and you will ruin the entire instrument cluster. Besides, in my country I don't know people who do that job well, that's why I prefer to change it.
You can always find instrument panel which shows close up mileage on odo what you have
Honestly, the odometer numbers don't matter much to me anymore. I can go with the odometer numbers of another car, the problem would be the settings in the MID, but I think that is not saved there and in any case, I can simply configure it again, but this time to my liking.
You exaggerate the complexity of this job, all you need is a soldering iron, solder, tweezers and SMD 3528 LEDs. I did this job on my 2006 Mustang, then did it on a 2009 Acura TL. If you change the Cluster, then there will be problems with mileage, and when selling, people will think that you did fraud with mileage. This is a free country and you do what you want to do.
Well I can end this thread, I decided to buy another one, I had to look for it from an already destroyed RL and use parts from my old gauge, but everything is like new.

So that mileage isn't correct? If it isn't, that will throw a red flag when you go to sell it as vehicle history reporting shows mileage over time on most cars...and a discrepancy will impact a sale/value unless you disclose it ahead of ttime.

Actually I wouldn't worry about that.
Bro... I live in the Dominican Republic, in my country we don't pay attention to mileage, much less with 2005 cars, everyone knows that a 2005 car cannot have low mileage unless the car never It was turned on since 2005, which today I think is impossible. In my country they sell you a car for aesthetic conditions: external or internal and for how it performs as an engine. People buy it without asking because the important thing is just moving from one distance to another.
I was lucky with this car! The previous owner was very aware of what he had on his hands and treated this car with the utmost care.
he taked care of everything aesthetic and everything at the maintenance level with the most absolute care as if the car were a 3-month-old baby.
The gauge thing was simply an unforeseen event that happened before he sold it to me.
but i have already solved the problem by simply buying another gauge, although if i really wanted the actual mileage i would just have to connect an OBD.
