Rim modification
Hi guys i've been reading many of your threads and have been very helpful in getting to know my new rl...this its my first post...... I purchased a 08 Rl about 3 month ago With the cmbs and pax option.... Actually the car was de pax 2 years ago according to the seller so I have some after market 18"rims....my Questions Are that I came across some brand new 2013 Acura tl rims with 18" tires but they won't fit into my Rl... They hit my brake caliper!!!...It seems that I need a 5mil metal spacer and I have to get some aftermarket lug nut to extend the bolts...has anyone done this modification to their Rl... And is it worth all the trouble in replacing all the lug nuts???? They do look beautiful on my car but I'm not sure what direction to go...... Any advise would b appreciated.... Thanks

Rims to fit this car need to be carefully considered. The big brakes on our cars makes rim clearance a major issue. I know others have installed other Acura rims with a spacer. As far as extending the lug nuts. I'm not sure.

so where are the pictures of your new set up and what "modifications" (spacers) were required to achieve your objective?
I am wondering how satisfied you were with the outcome and if you think it was worth it all for you.
I also have an RL and am going through the same, and if not the same at least a very similar scenario than what you have described

I used 6mm with stock lugs and had no problems at all.

As others said with 5mm you won't need extended studs or changing lugs since the TL also uses 22mm lug nuts
If you're looking for spacers I'd recommend http://www.motorsport-tech.com/wheel_spacers.html may take about 3-4 weeks tho but quality is top notch, spacers are made once order is placed
