I drove a 2006 RL with the rear camera and would swear that when placed in reverse BOTH mirrors rotated down, but I am getting old.

On my new 2006 w/o camera only the mirror that has been switched 'on' at the dash adjustment control rotates down.

Does the camera install add dual mirror rotation? Anyone hacked it to work for the base package?

Same here, rear camera and only the one mirror rotates downward when in reverse.
