I opted out for getting OEM replacements 4300k philips d2s (amaz**.com for just over $100 for two)... anyhow, I called dealer to ask how much would it cost to get them both replaced with their parts and labor: $299.99 per each side ($600 for replacing hid bulbs - what????!?!?!?!)

I know bumper needs to come-off and what not but relly... $250 per bulb and $100 labor? That really is crazy...

Got my bulbs and going to honda dealer to see how much will they charge - if too much, going to my usual mechanic and will assist with replacement - pretty cool guy...

$600 - kind of steep price.

What bulbs did you opted out and why? I initially looked for 5000k with blue tint but what I found was $200 I think per bulb... tried to go little bit more less than that

Easiest way is to jack up the car, remove the rim, remove the plastic linning in the wheel wheel. U'll have direct direct access, line of sight.

 

MTLTL is right. I paid $75 for two Phillips D2S 4300k shipped (from Ebay) and my indie mech charged me $60 to do what MTLTL said. No need to pay the stealership.

It has been 3 months and everything is fine. My bulbs do not flicker.

 

$100 on Amazon for a pair of Phillips OEM is too much.

 

Go for some Osram Bulbs. Phillips D2S 85122+ are the most faked bulbs out on the market now. premature failure and the match is so close its hard to tell the difference til the bulb randomly fails.

 

Are you saying there is a risk of not getting genuine Phillips bulbs?

 

i just bought 2 philips from amazon, one of them was defective. they are sending another for replacement. if i would have known these were fakes i would have gone with osrams.

 

Now he tells me. Is there any visual indication of real vs. fake in the bulb, the packaging, or the identity of the vendor?
