removing the rubber causing (honda rot)

Did a couple searches but couldn't find what I was looking for.

Where and how do I remove this rubber stripping on the wheel wells? I also have the A-spec rear body kit installed. Not sure if that hinders removal..

Any photos of where and how? Can't seem to find them based on related post descriptions.

TIA..

Rear wheel well where if you were really low the tires would rub, aka the place where fender rolling takes place, I wonder if the RL is prone to this? Should we all remove this?

May I ask why you guys remove this trim? I was missing it when I bought my CPO, and was thinking of buying a replacement...

Because it traps road salts/grime/chemicals that could damage the metal.

Dont know yet about RL/Legend rubber trims but my Accord Wagon had them and there was/is metal "skeleton" inside the rubber that holds it in its shape.
That inside metal was rusting in Accord trims and made them swell and they also infected those lips pretty badly.

It's been fully 'grown' for some time now. I have to keep deleting old mods to make room for the new

when I removed mine this week, they were full of dirt and dust. Now I have to give those inner lips and edges a fresh cleaning and coat of something...

Why do you think Honda puts it on in the first place?

to protect the tire from rubbing the metal, and to protect the metal from rocks.
