Rearview mirror

Wondering if anyone else has this problem. When the right rearview mirror tips down when you shift to reverse all is fine but, when shifted back to drive,it forgets its preset position. It seems to be intermittent but did do it when at the dealer! It is going in next week to have it "repaired" but the dealer hasn't encountered anything like it before and neither has the techs at Acura which they supposedly checked with. Will keep you informed.

If I am not mistaken this was a common problem with the 3G TL (Although, it may have been the 2G RL). I have heard of it before though. At least they will fix it.

What do you mean by that? If you shift to Park and press your driver button on the door does it return to preset position? If yes, then it is well known issue and for me it was permanently resolved by 60 seconds battery disconnect, which basically reset the system.

konst_ms the mirror doesn't return fully to the preset position. It stops before it reaches the "full up" preset position. Sorry if I wasn't clear on this point.

Mine does the same thing. I also had the dealer look at this and they could not duplicate it. It is not off by much but I find I need to raise the mirror a tad about once a week. Let me know if you are able to find a cure for this.

Update
Just got the car back from the dealer. They couldn't duplicate the problem again but, after checking the schematics, discovered that there is a position sensor in the mirror. Since there was no way to check its viability, they replaced the mirror assembly. So far,so good.
