Is the rear Aspec lip really worth it?

I know the front lip kit adds a whole new dynamic to the RL, and I would love to make that addition to mine. However, I can't find the justification to add the rear lip as I don't see enough change to warrant it. Take a look at BDogg's rear lip.

Now take a look at Razz's stock rear bumper.

The only differences I see are 1) the line that the lip adds & 2) the blacked out space between/around the tail pipe. Looking at the stock bumper, there is a crease around the bottom in almost the same fashion as the lip's line. Personally, I am not a fan of this line, and if I got a lip, I would want to smooth it out and paint over it so that the bumper and lip looked like one piece. I also don't care for the blacked out part.

Here is a straight on angle.
Jeowen's rear lip:

And Razz's rear bumper again.

I just don't see enough difference to warrant $460, and this also brings up the side skirts.

Jeowen's:

And Chris Acura's:

I know there was someone here who only did the front lip, but I don't know who or where to find pics. Does it look that off? Am I missing a key difference that is worth the $$$? Why did Acura make them so similar?

Here is xdarkne55x's for more angles:

I kind of agree that the A-Spec rear spoiler is tame. What you really want is something like the Mugen rear spoiler. but that is hard to swallow at 3x price, and I don't think you get the reinforced piston either, to support the heavier weight of the trunk lid. This link has a video of the rear spoiler.

Great breakdown 007! I personally have never seen a huge difference in the rear kit, either. I do like the sides and front though. I'm just not sure it would look okay if someone had all but one piece of the kit.

To me the design that Acura did on the A-spec kit it was not a huge different to offset the price tag. The front I really not feeling it neither as it look to square looking. I know Mugen and Amuse is one of the high prices in the market but worth the $$$$$

I personally believe the A-Spec rear is only worth it if your car is white or something similar.

Then there's the black / white combo going on.

If it's a dark car? forget it.

I think it was SuperGreen? not exactly sure...but I remember he had a silver RL with RJ Legend wheels and only a front lip, and I think he also had a NSX.

Edit: ah, here: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ght=supergreen

Thanks Sleepinx. I don't see anything off about this.

In fact, I think it looks better than I thought it would.

Does anyone see anything wrong with this? If so, what?

Sorry man but I'm not feeling it but I do understand your point of view from your previous post but why doing something half way. If you car would be a dark color I can understand but I'd do the whole thing if I were you. Not to mention re selling value. Having said I don't like the front. It don't have no style at all. Just my .2..When I bought A-spec side and rear I did noticed a difference on the side once compare to OEM it stuck out a little bit to stay flush with the front one.

Show us a pic how your RL looks right now. I don't recall seen one beside what you had on your avatar.

Click on "2007 Acura Legend" above my avatar. I would repost the pic, but it is 10 MP.

I understand your dislike for the front bumper. Seeing how you have a Mugen lip to ogle everyday, I wouldn't want to look at the Aspec either if I were you. Now, when you say you're not feeling it, is that a direct statement about the Aspec lip or the whole flow of the underbody? I am only asking about how the bumpers and side skirts flow with each other.

I don't care about resale value. If I sell this car, it will be for $2k tops b/c that's what it will be worth when I'm done with it.

I don't post a lot of pics b/c of how stock my car is, and we have all seen a LSM 2G RL with taupe interior. There are pics floating around in threads, but they are of individual mods, not the whole car.

BTW, I only need your 2 cents. 20 cents is just too much.

Hey, find me a vendor that sells JUST the front kit, and I'd be all over it. I think it looks great on that Lakeshore Silver car with mudflaps. The thing is, I think Honda only ships it as the full item.

Hahahahaah, Que chingon eres, okay mis 2 centavos!!!!!

In regards to the A-Spec body kit, I don't like the front spoiler because it too square but that's just me, different people like it some others don't but at the end what matters if you like it. Now with your car been a LSM the rear A-spec will make a difference and will look more sporty. I'm sure you may find the whole body kit for under 1k.

Ballinger, look here:
http://www.oemacuraparts.com/index.p...ERBODY+SPOILER

I can get the front and sides for $422 each and the rear for $305, so total would be $1149, before shipping.

The only reason I bring this up is that the only part of the exterior I don't like is the front bumper. I like the back, and I agree with Carbon that the sunken in tail pipes looks like :poop:. If I got the back, I would want to change the tips. It just doesn't make sense to me when I like the stock tips, and I don't like the black between them on the Aspec.

All I am asking is if the front bumper only doesn't flow with the rest of the underbody.

I have the hole aspec except the front. Its very worth it because the quality, mounting hardware, and perfect color match! Plus when you sell it still all stock oem stuff.. I know someone will ask why i dont have the front because i dont like the look of it and it would get badly damaged by going in drive ways and driving fast , im going to make a small black plastic lip like on my CRX

Okay, you rule. I had stopped searching and lo, it was there all along. Do you (or anyone) have a handle on which other parts are required for the installation?

No that is service. You just mention the guy's name and *BAM!* He's there.

It's almost creepy. Makes you wonder if he has a script checking for "Tim" and "oemacuraparts" used in the same post.

Tim, how's it going?

its worth it to me because i have the meteor silver so the black will stand out a lot more then the opulent pearl which it almost blends in.

I've had great experiences with Tim and OEMacuraparts.com. The last one, however, was for a group buy for the wood wheel and Tim never responded to my last two phone calls/messages. Luckily (I guess), only 2 of the 10 confirmed buyers from here were actually ready to pull the trigger when it came time to write a check.

That's too bad, because the woodish wheel is a GREAT upgrade to the interior of this car.

i have to say the car looks great with the full kit, and if you just plan on doing front or the back and not finishing looks like lazy work doesnt even looked modded you should just keep it plain without a kit if you go half way, yet the rl aspec really doesnt stand out to me like the tl type s one. I think its your opinion though to mod your car how you want. just expect for ppl, to drastically criticize you sometimes otherwise they will like it. lol.
