Really enjoy my RL

First of all, I am extremely pleased with my RL. Have had since July. Other then a rattle/squeak in my moon roof which they fixed last week could not be happier. Actually look foward to going anywhere even with gas prices at $3.39 a gallon.
1. Has anyone run their RL on other then 93 octane? See a difference with the lower octanes?
2. Center console storage, when I shut the AC down, nice cool day outside, have you checked how hot the center console storage space gets? No big deal, just do not store perishables or heat sensitive stuff in there !

!
Be a little careful experimenting with lower octane fuel.
If the anti knock program is a good one you won't hear or feel much other than flatter acceleration. But the spark retard may not give you the optimal combustion which will cost in fuel economy ans may leave more deposits in the chamber.

The gas station I usually go to was out of 93 octane. So after checking with my dealership they suggested that if 93 was not available to use 89 minimum octane but if I can avoid it NOT to run the air-conditioner, due to the load factor. DO NOT USE 87! I have had no trouble with the tanks of 89 octane but I prefer the 93 octane. The RL runs much better especially with the air-conditioner on.

I always use 93. However, the station by me that I stopped into on the way out of town the other morning only had 87 available. I filled up with it as I did not have time to go to another station quite a distance away........my trip was about 2.5 hours each way.....had the a/c on all the time.....noticed no difference and the trip computer said I averaged 25.2 mpg. I will go back to premium, but I think if you are in a pinch, 87 won't hurt the car if you don't use it all the time.
